The workpiece pallet is uniquely identified by a data carrier mounted to the workpiece pallet. The reading head is plug-and-play and is attached to the section module, reading the data carrier number as soon as

the workpiece pallet passes through the reading station. The required distance between reading head and data carrier is 1 mm. To be able to identify the number saved on the data carrier, the data carrier's number is physically engraved on its side.
